Native to rainforest and open moist open forest in eastern Australia, it is the most cold tolerant of the genus. However, in Auckland climate it needs wind and cold protection to look good-otherwise leaves will get tatty. Plants are relatively fast growing and are well suited to planting in groups.
Cultivation: Full sun. Easily cultivated in open situations. Well drained, moist, fertile soils. Gross feeder-plenty of fertilizer and H20. Water frequently during hot months.
